Storage is typically only viewed from a Storage Centric perspective, with only Primary Storage is presented to the host.
From the Server Centric perspective this Primary Storage is the total storage available. However, from a Storage Centric perspective this Primary Storage is only a proportion of the allocated storage and doesn’t represent the replication, copy and RAID overheads.
Therefore whilst the consumption of the storage can only be measured from a Server Centric perspective total capacity can only be determined from a Storage perspective.
